S-2-aminoethyl-L-cysteine resistant S. bovis strains have been obtained. The high level of asparlokinase and diaminopirnlate decarboxylase activity as well as lysine biosynthesis activation have been shown in crude extracts of AEC mutants. B. subtilis lysine gene containing plasmid has been introduced into S. bovis protoplasts. The stability of recombinant plasmids in the cells has been confirmed.
